About Us
Empowered STEM is dedicated to inspiring and equipping girls and underserved students with the skills, confidence, and curiosity to thrive in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Founded in 2023, Empowered STEM began with a simple idea: every student deserves the chance to explore STEM without fear or barriers. We saw firsthand how talented students were often held back by a lack of confidence or access to resources. To address this, we are developing programs that combine mentorship, hands-on learning, and a supportive community.
Through our work, we:
-
Host free STEM workshops and summer camps
-
Offer after-school coding classes and robotics training
-
Connect students with inspiring mentors and role models
-
Create fun, pressure-free learning environments where creativity thrives
Since our founding, we’ve reached over 300 students through workshops, camps, and outreach programs — building not just skills, but lasting confidence and a sense of belonging in STEM.
Whether you’re a student, parent, educator, or supporter, we invite you to join us in building a future where every student feels welcome in STEM.
Our Founder
Anvitha Komarraju

Hi, I’m Anvitha Komarraju - founder of Empowered STEM and a student at the University of Southern California studying Computer Science. I founded Empowered STEM to provide girls and underserved students with opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in a supportive, hands-on environment.

My passion for this mission grew from my own experiences in robotics, computer science, and math, where I often saw talented students held back by a lack of confidence or access. Over the past few years, I’ve taught over 300 students through workshops, summer camps, and after-school programs. My work has been recognized with the Girl Scout Gold Award, and I’ve led initiatives through New Jersey STEM Girls and FIRST Robotics to expand access to STEM education.

I believe STEM should be fun, inclusive, and full of possibility, and I’m excited to share that vision with every student I meet.
